Outstanding participation of iHEALTH in the Annual Conference of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM)
Between May 4 and 9, an event was held in Singapore where 13 members of the Millennium Institute iHEALTH participated to present the advances and results of their latest research.
The event brought together doctors, physicists, engineers, biochemists, and technologists from around the world to promote communication and share research, development, and applications in the field of magnetic resonance in medicine and biology and other related topics.
Representing the iHEALTH team were Dr. Cristián Tejos; Dr. Pablo Irarrázaval; Tabita Catalán, Carlota Rivera, and Matías Paredes; Ronal Coronado; Javier Bisbal, Carlos Castillo, Marisleydis García, Juan Pablo Meneses, Nicolás Garrido, and Diego Pedraza; and Medical Technologist Cristián Montalba.
The iHEALTH members participated in various activities during the week, including presenting their results in oral and digital poster formats. The selected works were supervised and authored by the institute's director, Dr. Claudia Prieto, Principal Investigator Dr. René Botnar, and Adjunct Researcher Dr. Cristián Tejos.
One of the highlights of the event was the decoration of ISMRM members, where Dr. Claudia Prieto was recognized as a Fellow of the Society for “her outstanding contributions to the development and advancement of cardiovascular imaging methods.”
This year's ISMRM annual conference also jointly celebrated the International Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (ISMRT), highlighting the participation of Cristián Montalba. He achieved 3rd place in oral presentations and received recognition for being part of the ISMRT organizational committee from 2021 to 2024, as well as moderating and organizing several sessions.
Additionally, Carlos Castillo participated in a workshop organized by ezyMRI Nerd Fest. Together with a team of various researchers from other institutions worldwide, they managed to assemble part of a low-field resonator, specifically a radiofrequency antenna.
The ISMRM has already announced that their next annual conference will be held from May 10 to 15, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaii. Those who wish to participate have until November 6, 2024, to submit abstracts.
