Llay Llay Students Dive into Health and Technology with iHEALTH
On Friday, November 15, the Millennium Institute iHEALTH participated in the VII Science Fair of Llay Llay, gathering hundreds of students at Plaza Manuel Rodríguez for a day dedicated to exploring scientific knowledge. Organized by the Municipality of Llay Llay and the Red Viento Educa, the fair featured the participation of local schools, alongside guest institutions such as PAR Explora Valparaíso and prominent research centers from the region.
During the event, over 700 students had the opportunity to engage with various initiatives in fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, anatomy, and renewable energies. Booths offering talks, live demonstrations, and interactive activities sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among attendees.
Representing iHEALTH, Astrid Cancino, a physiotherapist and doctoral student, and Sebastián Ponce, a medical technologist and also a doctoral student, both from the University of Valparaíso, led a booth that captivated children and young people. Participants explored a virtual reality anatomical model, delving into the human body at scale, and controlled a game using electrical signals from their arm muscles via electrodes.
This experience not only brought technology and health closer to students but also fostered interest in science and its application to human well-being. The fair proved to be a space for learning and inspiration, encouraging scientific vocations from an early age.
The participation of iHEALTH underscores its commitment to scientific outreach and the promotion of STEM among younger generations, aiming to inspire future professionals in health and technology fields.
