iHEALTH welcomes a delegation from Heidelberg University

The principal investigator of iHEALTH, Dr. René Botnar, accompanied a group of young researchers from the German educational institution who visited the 0.55T low-field magnetic resonance scanner located at the institute's offices.

During the week of April 15th to 20th, the scientific symposium "From the Neckar Valley to the Cordillera de los Andes: Breaking Borders with Molecular Systems Engineering" was held, organized by the Heidelberg Center for Latin America. In this context, a delegation from the German university visited the facilities of iHEALTH at the San Joaquín Campus of the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

The event aimed to "strengthen the academic and scientific collaborations that already exist between Germany and Chile, particularly between the Institute for Molecular Systems Engineering and Advanced Materials (IMSEAM) at Heidelberg University" and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, among other institutions in the country.

As part of the invitation made by the Institute of Biological and Medical Engineering (IIBM) UC, the principal investigator of iHEALTH and director of IIBM, Dr. René Botnar, welcomed the group of young researchers, who had the opportunity to learn about the 0.55T low-field magnetic resonance scanner, as well as the various research lines involving its use.

The 0.55T magnetic resonance scanner, located in the Central Hub of iHEALTH, is the only one in the country exclusively for research use. The use of this equipment is open to the academic and scientific community, particularly for research associated with magnetic resonance imaging acquisition.
