iHEALTH opens its spaces for the training of postgraduate students
On Monday, June 3, a group of graduate students from the University of Valparaíso, led by iHEALTH principal investigator Dr. Stéren Chabert, learned about the operation and applications of the 0.55T low-field magnetic resonator located in the Central Hub of the Instituto Milenio iHEALTH at Campus San Joaquín UC.
Welcomed by medical technologist Nicole Araya, the future researchers applied the knowledge acquired in their graduate programs, working with images produced by the equipment and developing their understanding in a context closer to real-world MRI work.
On Monday, May 13, students from various graduate programs at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile visited the institute's facilities for the same purpose. The activity was led by iHEALTH principal investigator Dr. René Botnar and postdoctoral researcher Dr. Ronal Coronado, who teach the elective course "Image Formation."
A key goal of the Instituto Milenio iHEALTH is to train and educate the next generation of scientists. The institute aims to enable new professionals in the field to transform and improve medical imaging, creating a stimulating ecosystem that supports and promotes the careers of undergraduate and graduate students working in these research areas.
The 0.55T magnetic resonator is the only one in the country exclusively for research use. This equipment is available to the academic and scientific community, particularly for research related to magnetic resonance imaging. Thus, the equipment has been used not only for research but also to contribute to the academic development of future researchers.
The equipment is available for use as part of the academic training of future professionals in the field. For more information, you can contact us at info@i-health.cl
