Title: Challenges of cancer in Chile: CECAN, how to change the history of cancer in Chile

Bio: Dr Bruno Nervi is a digestive medical oncologist, from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, United Stated. He is the head of the Hematology and Oncology department at Universidad Católica. He is also the president of the “Chile sin cáncer” foundation, whose goal is that all chileans can access timely and proper attention when faced with cancer. Dr Nervi is a member of the National Cancer Commission implemented by the Cancer Law, whose mission is to provide support from the civil society to the Health Ministry in the execution of a National Cancer Plan. He is the director of the Center for the Prevention and Control of Cancer (CECAN), which is a FONDAP centre for the development of cancer research directed to impact public policies.

Title: Autonomous acquisitions of medical ultrasound images.
Abstract: Ultrasound scanners have a wide coverage at national level, being present in most clinics. Among the limitations of this technique is its dependence on the experience and skills of the operator. Some studies that have addressed this issue propose the use of a robot to control the transducer, while others suggest new wearable transducer systems. We will discuss proposals in the field of robotic-assisted acquisitions and new approaches in wearable adhesive ultrasound.
